A Vintage Wedding - Annabel & Lee
I LOVE a vintage wedding! Annabel & Lee created the most beautiful vintage inspired wedding day with so many gorgeous touches, it was an absolute pleasure to capture it for them! I started off the day with Annabel & her Bridesmaids, Flower Girls, closest friends and of course Mum at her parents home in Bordon, Hampshire. We had a fabulous morning with the girls all chatting excitedly about the day to come and Annabel & her friends reminiscing about trips they had taken and things they had done together.
Whilst the girls were all chatting, I spent some time with Annabel's beautiful vintage wedding dress, her classic ivory shoes and captured images of her vintage wedding flowers by the very talented Tarnia at Tarnia Williams. If you're getting married and in need of stunning luxury flowers, then Tarnia is the lady you need to see! If the Bridal Prep is held in the parents home, I love looking for personal items such as pictures, maps, cards or letters that connect the now and then. For instance, when I was looking for a creative way to shoot Annabel's wedding dress, I spotted this photograph hanging on the wall of her Mother & Fathers wedding and couldn't resist capturing the two vintage wedding dresses together!
Whilst the ladies and I were having fun during Bridal Prep, Ian was of course with the gorgeous Groom, just a few roads away! Lee spent the morning prepping for the big day with his Dad, Best Man Paddy, his Ushers and of course his gorgeous little Page Boy, Niall.
All to soon it was time to head to the Church! We were all a little concerned about the weather but I'm pleased to say that with just a tiny shower as Annabel arrived, the weather was good to them! Annabel & Lee had hired the most beautiful ivory wedding taxi's I have ever seen. They even had one taxi that is the first stretched London taxi in the UK! All thanks to the fabulous guys at First Choice Wedding Cars!
Annabel & Lee tied the knot in a gorgeous church - Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Haslemere and the Vicar was amazing! A complete character, he had the wedding guests (and the Bride & Groom) in stitches!
Joining us to capture the day was the wonderful Jack & Ben from Jack Taylor Productions. Jack and I had met before and we worked together to create a set of beautiful images and video that would give Annabel & Lee everything they could want to remember their magical day.
After the ceremony we all went outside to throw confetti, a few photos and then off to Barnett Hill for the wedding reception! Barnett Hill is a secret gem of beauty in the middle of Guildford. Tucked away up a hill and in what looks like a residential road is the most beautiful Queen Anne style mansion house and is surrounded by 26 acres of beautiful grounds. Oh my, did I have SO much fun when Annabel & Lee met us there for the first time on their Engagement Shoot as we walked around picking out the best spots for photos! With a manicured lawn, woodland trails, landscaped gardens, a fountain and much more I was seriously spoilt for choice!
The Ceremony was done and now it was time to party! Annabel's Fathers speech was insanely beautiful and had everyone welling up and when Lee spoke to his new Bride, you could really see the love that poured out of him. Paddy did a fantastic job of embarrassing Lee with stories of old (just as a best man should!) and congratulating him on what a fantastic guy he is - and what an amazing wife he now has! Here Here!!
The evening was full of casino tables, dancing to the amazing music provided by the DJ at Firebird Events a bouquet toss, garter toss and then as the heavens opened and the rain came down that had held off so amazingly for them all day, we even captured a beautiful rainbow over the Bride & Groom!
Annabel, Lee, we wish you all the very best for your future together as Husband & Wife and we are so honoured to have been a part of your special vintage wedding day!
Lots of love,
Lesley & Ian xx
