5 Reasons your business needs a great headshot

I love taking company headshots.  From small local businesses to the giant ones, headshots are implicit in creating a well known and well trusted brand for your business.

Here are 5 reasons why you need a great headshot:

1.  Make it Personal

Creating trust with your customers is a must for every business large or small and a headshot goes a long way towards that.  Being able to see who they are working with and communicating with gives customers confidence and trust in you, your products and abilities.

2.  Keeping things Current

Headshots are usually renewed once every year or two.  It easily and quickly shows customers who you are right now rather than when you started.  An updated headshot also gives customers a true impression that your company is keeping up with the times when it comes to business.

3.  Marketing & Promotion

A corporate headshot can be used in many ways - here are just a few:

On your website:

  • 'About Me' or 'Welcome' page
  • 'Meet the Team' or 'Staff' page
  • Social media profiles - Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google+

General Online Uses:

  • Adverts
  • Newsletter
  • Email Footer
  • Articles for blogs / companies

Printed Materials:

  • Business cards
  • Letterheads
  • Book Covers
  • Roll up Banners
  • Press Releases
  • Quotes to customers
  • In your corporate brochure
  • Product & services brochure

4.  Professionalism

We all know the importance of a current, professional headshot.  Images taken on a smartphone, by a friend or cropped from a family photo certainly don't have the same level of professionalism to them.  They can be blurry, out of focus or simply convey the wrong message.  A solicitor for instance wants to come across as approachable, professional, knowledgeable and an expert in their field.   Headshots should be lit well and posed correctly with attention to detail to create the right image for your business.

5.  Networking - online & offline

Many businesses utilize social media and business networking sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook & Twitter to connect with other businesses both locally and internationally.  Along with networking meetings and corporate events they are a wealth of potential clients.  A professional headshot presents the face of the company to the world and is the perfect way to create a consistent brand image.
